Edgelands
These paintings are of Kelham Island in Sheffield, an area once steeped in old steel manufacturing. Now there are huge areas which remain derelict or severely run down but regeneration is on the march. Renovation sits alongside dilapidation and a sometimes cosy, sometimes jarring meeting of the two invokes that elusive liminal space.
